GREETINGS!
I first heard about Philmont Scout Ranch when I was just a kid. My Dad, John Ficke, worked one summer as a PC at Beaubien in 1981. He would tell us stories about Chuckwagon dinner, Philmont "Christmas" in July, and staff rendezvous. I grew up attending and working at 4-H Camps in Nebraska, loving the community and independence that outdoor summer camp offered. As I out-grew 4-H Camp staff and went on to college, I applied to work at Philmont. I was beyond thrilled to be offered PC Beaubien, just like my Dad!

I went on to work 8 seasons, and serve on the Philmont Staff Association Board of Directors.

As a life-long writer and hobbyist photographer, I was seeking a new way to communally share what was so remarkably important about this place called Philmont. I began reaching out and re-connecting with people, to see where life had lead them post-Philmont.

Silver On the Sage Podcast was born out of my desire to preserve, highlight, and share the unique but common impact that Philmont has had on us all. To lift-up, promote, and gather Philmont alumni in an innovative and authentic way - through their own voices.
The land that Waite Phillips and others have donated is beyond compare, but it's the people that keep the impact alive. It is my humble and enthusiastic intent to share that impact with you today.

Cheers!
Caitlin (Ficke) Lowe
